Youth career
Zelalem joined Arsenal from American side Olney Rovers in 2013 after a successful trial. He spent time with the Under-16s initially before graduating to feature for the Under-21s and Under-19s, as well as the youth team. In January 2014, he made his first team debut as he came off the bench in an FA Cup victory over Coventry City.
International
Gedion has represented Germany at Under-15, Under-16 and Under-17 level. It is believed he is also eligible to represent the USA, where he grew up.
