Youth career
Jack is the son of former professional footballer, Nicky Barmby. A pacey, powerful, direct winger, Jack had an excellent Academy record at United, playing usually from the left or sometimes as a striker. He scored in every round of the 2011/12 FA Youth Cup up until the semi-finals when Manchester United were beaten by Chelsea.
In 2013/14 Barmby had very few opportunities to play and was eventually loaned out in January to Hartlepool United for the remainder of the season where he played well and scored five goals. He wasn't offered a new contract at the end of the 2013/14 season and left United to join Leicester City on a free.
International
Jack has represented England at Under-16, Under-18 and Under-19 levels.
