Daniel Johnson

Daniel Johnson is a midfielder currently playing in Aston Villa’s Under-21 team.

Youth career

Johnson played at Crystal Palace as a schoolboy before making the switch to Villa in 2009. He was handed the captain's armband for the 2010-11 season and spearheaded the youngsters to the Premier Academy League Group B title and to the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup. In 2011-12, he played in all but one of the reserve team's fixtures as they won their league title.

In October 2012, Daniel had a one-month loan at Yeovil Town, making his senior debut. He returned to Villa and continued to impress in the reserve ranks, scoring three goals as the Under-19s made it all the way to the quarter-finals in the inaugural campaign of the NextGen Series. In August 2014, Johnson agreed to a three-month loan deal at Chesterfield.

Johnson has no international representation to date.

Daniel won back-to-back league titles with the youth team and then the reserves from 2010 to 2012.

Contract

Johnson is contracted to Villa until the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
