Dean Henderson

Formerly an outfield player, Dean joined Manchester United aged 14 from Carlisle United. He established himself as the first choice goalkeeper in the Academy in the first year of his scholarship and continued as the preferred goalkeeper in the 2014/15 season.

Dean made his debut for the Under-21 side in September 2015. In January 2016 he joined Stockport County on an initial one month loan and had it extended for a second month. He was however recalled due to a goalkeeping crisis in the First Team and he was an unused substitute for the FA Cup match away to Shrewsbury Town in February 2016.

On deadline day of the 2016 summer transfer window, Dean joined Grimsby Town on loan until January 2017. That loan was then extended until the end of January after Dean made his debut for the club, and then extended again until the first week of May 2017. However, due to an injury back at Manchester United, Dean was recalled from his loan in February 2017.

Dean joined Shrewsbury Town on loan for the 2017/18 season and after signing a new contract with Manchester United and joined Sheffield United on loan for the 2018/19 season. He rejoined Sheffield United for the 2019/20 season after signing another new contract with Manchester United.

Dean has represented England at Under-16, Under-17, Under-20 and Under-21 levels.
