Youth career
Everton picked Green up from Bradford as a 15 year old in 2011. The fee was reported as an initial £300,000 rising to a potential £2 million when add-ons were triggered. He got a loan spell at Tranmere, getting six league games and scoring once, but was released in 2015 after four years with the club. On 1 July 2015 he joined Oldham.
International
George has represented England at Under-16, Under-17, and Under-18 level.

He signed a two-and-a-half year professional contract at Everton in January 2013, but was released at its end. His first contract at Oldham expires in 2017, and the club have an option for a further year.
