Janoi Donacien

Janoi Donacien is a defender currently playing in Aston Villa’s Under-21 team.

Youth career

Donacien joined Aston Villa from Luton Town in 2009 and has represented the Midlands side at Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 age groups. He was an instrumental figure in their NextGen Series win in 2012-13, playing in every knockout match, and has been a regular for the Under-21s. In August 2014 he joined Tranmere Rovers on a four-month loan deal.

International

Janoi has no international representation to date. In 2012, he and his family were denied permanent UK residency by the Home Office and instead granted three years of discretionary leave to remain in the UK until 2015.

Donacien was victorious with the Under-19s in 2012-13 as they claimed the NextGen Series crown after a 2-0 final win over Chelsea. He was also a winner of the Premier Reserve League South in 2011-12.

Contract

Janoi signed a two-year contract at Villa in the summer of 2014 that keeps him tied to the club until the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
