Youth career
Kinsella progressed through the youth ranks at Arsenal before joining Villa as an Under-16. The left-back instantly made an impression at his new club, playing in all but one of Villa's NextGen Series ties in 2011-12 and scoring a memorable winner away in Istanbul to secure a 2-1 win over Fenerbahce. He was hit by injury at the start of 2012-13 but returned to feature in the latter stages of the Under-19 European competition as Villa went on to lift the trophy in Como.
