Tyrell made his Manchester United U-18 debut late in the 2013/14 season as an Under-15 schoolboy. Capable of playing as a right winger, Tyrell has settled into the right back slot and even covered at centre back on occasions. Having made 5 appearances for the Under-18 side in 2014/15 he became a scholar for the 2015/16 season. In January 2016, Tyrell made his Under-21 debut as a substitute away to Reading and his first start came later in the season away to Blackpool.
Tyrell was touted for the Manchester United First Team by Jose Mourinho in the summer of 2016 but started the season captaining the Under-18 side before he missed a month through injury.
He struggled for regular playing time in 2017/18 and 2018/19 and after a number of trials away from Manchester United, he was released at the end of the 2018/19 season.
