Matthew Willock

Matthew Willock is a midfielder currently playing in Manchester United’s Under-18 and Under-21 teams.

Youth career

Matthew joined Manchester United in the summer of 2012 from Reading, having previously been at Arsenal, where his two younger brothers still play. He joined Manchester United as a winger and failed to make an Under-18 appearance in his first season. However a considerable growth spurt in the summer of 2013 saw him become a key component of the side in the 2013/14 season, playing now in central midfield. During the campaign, his energy in the middle saw him make more appearances than any other player at Under-18 level and he made his Under-21 debut too.
