Cameron is a defender who can play at both centre back and left fullback. He has a reputation for being calm on the ball and has very good feet for a tall footballer.
In the 2014/15 season, Cameron was used solely as a left fullback as the centre back pairing of RoShaun Williams and Axel Tuanzebe was been favoured.
Cameron was called into the first team squad in November 2015 and made his debut as a substitute against West Brom. He made his Champions League debut as a substitute away to Wolfsburg in December 2015 and his first league start away to Bournemouth a few days later.
In August 2016, having recovered from an injury, Cameron joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan for the season. Following a change of manager in winter 2016, Cameron had his playing time reduced and was allowed to take part in Under-23 games back at Manchester United in spring 2017.
Cameron joined Leeds United on loan for the 2017/18 season but returned back to Manchester United in January 2018.
In July 2018 Cameron joined Scunthorpe United on loan for the 2018/19 season.
