Isaac Hayden

Isaac Hayden is a defender/midfielder currently playing for Newcastle United after coming through the ranks at Arsenal.

Youth career

Equally comfortable in the centre of defence or midfield, Hayden has captained Arsenal sides throughout his progression at the club, most recently wearing the armband for the Under-21s. He joined the Gunners' academy in 2010 from Southend United and made his first team debut in a League Cup tie against West Brom in September 2013.

Senior career

Hayden also made a solitary League Cup appearance in 2014-15 before then embarking upon a loan at Hull City in 2015-16, where he featured in 24 matches en route to helping the Tigers to promotion to the Premier League. Having established his credentials as one of the brightest defensive midfield prospects around, he signed a five-year deal with Newcastle United in July 2016.
