Youth career
Burgoyne signed for Wolves at twelve, having had unsuccessful trials at other local clubs. During the first year of his scholarship he was briefly loaned out to Doncaster Rovers, and appeared for them in an FA Youth Cup match against Manchester City.

Burgoyne received his first pro contract round about March 2015, following a successful scholarship. The contract runs until Summer 2017, at which point the club holds an option for a further year.
