Youth Career
Iorfa is the son of the Nigerian international striker of the same name. He joined the Wolves academy from Southend's youth system, joining as an Under-16 player. He had started out there as a striker, wanting to emulate his father, but his Dad had put a stop to that by telling the lad's coach that he thought he was a defender.
Shrewsbury Town
Iorfa's first taste of league football came at League One Shrewsbury, as an 18 year old. He joined them on loan on 18 March 2014, and played seven times for them.
Wolves first team
After featuring regularly at U21 level, Dominic Iorfa made his Wolves full competitive début on 6 December 2014 at the age of 19. It was a Championship match against Bournemouth at Molineux, which Wolves eventually lost 1-2, having had two players sent off. Although he claims to feel most comfortable in the centre of defence, almost all of his senior games have so far been at right back. He was Wolves' Young Professional of the Season for 2014-15.
International
To date Iorfa has ten England caps, one at U18 level, five at U20 level, and four at U21. The first two U20 internationals were friendlies against Portugal away and Mexico at home. The other three were in the 2015 Toulon tournament. In their first match England played Morocco and Iorfa was dismissed for two bookable offences. He was therefore suspended for the second game, but came straight back into the team for the third, against Mexico. He was left out of the fourth game, but returned for the third-place play-off, against USA, which England lost 2-1.
At Under-21 level, Iorfa played in a friendly against USA Under-23, then three times in UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification. The first of these was from the bench, but he started the other two.
