Joe Edwards is a former Under-18 team manager of Chelsea.
Playing career
Edwards was a schoolboy player at Chelsea, but his playing career never took off and he entered coaching in his early twenties.
Managerial career
He joined the Chelsea academy staff in 2004, and became the Under-16 coach in 2011. As part of his duties he assisted Adi Viveash, the then Under-18 manager, and when Viveash moved up to the Under-21s in July 2014, Edwards was given his job. After winning two FA Youth Cup titles in his two seasons in the role, Edwards was promoted to a 'sabbatical' role working with the club's loan players for the 2016-17 season.
