The 2014 European Under-19 Championship is being hosted by Hungary from 19 July to 31 July and features eight sides split into two groups. Teams face each other once in the group stage before the top two sides in each group progress to the semi-finals, with the winner of Group A facing the runner-up of Group B, and the winner of Group B going up against Group A's second-placed team. The top three sides from each group will also earn qualification for the 2015 Under-20 World Cup.

Qualification
Qualification for the final tournament took part in two stages, with the initial qualifying round staged across September, October and November 2013 and the elite round of qualification being held across May and June 2014. The eight teams taking part are: Portugal, Austria, Germany, Serbia, Israel, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Hungary
