Youth career
Hayden has been playing for Middlesbrough since Under-14, he was scouted at his old club Ponteland and has also played for Newcastle City Juniors. Hayden is a player that loves to run down the lines and take on players, he is also a good tackler too and defends well.

Hayden has represented England at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 level, he was part of the Under-16 squad in the Victory Shield of 2013.
