Youth career

Jesse has been with Manchester United for more than ten years and has always been treated with caution due to his size. Sir Alex Ferguson always told Jesse to be patient and that he'd be physically ready for first team football at the age of 22 or 23. Rio Ferdinand selected Jesse as the one player he was certain would become a Manchester United first team player.

Jesse is an attacking midfielder, capable of playing off either wing or through the middle. His speed, technical ability and eye for goal make him an exciting prospect for club and country. Having progressed through the Academy and Reserves system he made the bench twice in the 2012/13 League Cup but didn't make it onto the pitch. In the November of 2012 he went on loan to Leicester City for a couple of months.

The 2013/14 season started with Jesse top scoring on the pre-season tour with the first team and he was included in the first team for the opening competitive games of the campaign. In September 2013 he joined Birmingham City on loan for four months and scored four goals on his debut. Upon returning to Manchester United he was once again an unused substitute in the FA Cup and went out on loan again in February, joining Brighton & Hove Albion until the end of the season.

Jesse went on the pre-season tour again with the first team at the start of the 2014/15 season and was a surprise starter, making his first team debut, at right wing back at home to Sunderland in the opening game of the 2014/15 season. Having recovered from a long-term injury, Jesse joined Derby County on loan on 2nd February 2015.

Jesse broke into the Manchester United first team in autumn 2015 and scored his first senior goal for the club in November 2015 at home to West Brom.

International

Jesse has represented England at Under-17 and Under-21 levels.
