Youth career

Josef joined Middlesbrough at Under-9 level after being scouted by Middlesbrough FC when he played for TJFA side Boro Juniors. He also made his Under-21 debut last season, 2013 against Aston Villa at the Riverside Stadium.

Josef started his two-year scholarship at Middlesbrough at the beginning of the 2013-2014 campaign.
