Tendai Matinyadze

Tendai Matinyadze is a full back/creative midfielder currently playing for the Wolverhampton Wanderers Under-18 team, with occasional U21 appearances as well.

Youth career

Tendai spent his first few years in Zimbabwe, arriving in England as an eight year old. He played for local side Tipton Olympic for two years as a striker, and was top goalscorer in the league both seasons. He joined Wolves as an eleven year old, and has been a regular ever since. He started as a central midfielder, then was played as a winger, but has recently been playing at right back. He could have been a rugby player instead: former Rugby Union star Austin Healey once tried to tempt him to switch.
