Youth career
Benjamin joined Villa from the youth ranks of Basel upon turning 17 in January 2009. He featured regularly for the Under-18s and then the Under-21s, before loan spells in 2013-14 at Burton Albion and Cambridge United.
International
Siegrist has represented Switzerland at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 level. He was part of the Swiss squad that took part in the London Olympic Games in 2012 and also won the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in 2010, claiming the prize for the tournament's best goalkeeper.
