Youth career

Kieran spent much of the 2013/14 season on a work experience loan at Trafford FC.

Kieran turned pro in the summer of 2014 but spent the majority of the 2014/15 season as an unused substitute and had to make-do with appearances in behind closed doors friendles. He finally made his Under-21 debut in the last game of the campaign.

On deadline day of the summer 2015 window, Kieran joined Morecambe on a one month loan deal. He followed that up by joining Stockport County on loan for a month at the end of November 2015. Kieran returned to Morecambe on loan in January 2016 for the remainder of the season.

In August 2018 Kieran joined Macclesfield Town on loan for the 2018/19 season.

In July 2019 Kieran joined Burton Albion on loan for the 2018/19 season.

Kieran was released by Manchester United at the end of the 2019/20 season.

International

Although eligible for England, Kieran has to date opted to play for Ireland and was invited to a training camp with the Under-21 side in September 2016 before making his debut for them in November 2016.
