Youth career

Guillermo signed for Manchester United in the summer of 2013 from Peñarol following a successful trial with the first team. Although he's yet to feature at senior level for the club, his performances for the Under-21 side during the 2013/14 season have been of a high and increasingly improving standard. In January 2014 he was given compassionate leave due to his parents being involved in a car crash in Uruguay.

He joined Real Madrid on loan for the 2014/15 season, playing for their Castilla team. Guillermo returned to Manchester United for the 2015/16 season and played predominantly with the Under-21 side as an overage player. He was added to the first team squad to face West Ham in December 2015 and made his debut as a half time substitute, replacing Patrick McNair. He made his first start for the club in the Champions League away to Wolfsburg and followed that up with a first league start away to Bournemouth in December 2015. In April 2016, Guillermo scored an injury time winning goal to ensure that the Under-21 side retained the Under-21 Premier League title.

Guillermo joined Eintracht Frankfurt on loan for the 2016/17 season.

International

Guillermo has represented Uruguay at Under-17 and Under-20 levels. He was called up to the Senior Team for the first time in March 2016.
