Milos joined Tottenham from Basel in 2011. In the 2012-13 campaign the composed centre back featured on 19 occasions for the Tottenham's Under-21s and played every minute of Spurs' Under-19s run to the NextGen quarter finals. Milos continued to be a consistent presence in the Under-21 team in 2013-14, making fourteen appearances.

The Serb joined Middlesbrough on loan in October 2014. He was limited to just three appearances for Boro due to Adam Clayton and Grant Leadbitter forming a successful midfield partnership. Veljkovic earned praise from manager Aitor Karanka who described him as "the best player on the pitch" against Ipswich after he came off the bench in the 60th minute. In January 2015, after his loan at Middlesbrough had expired, Milos was once again loaned out to the Championship, this time to Charlton Athletic. He impressed for the Addicks in central midfield before dislocating his shoulder in his third appearance for the club, ending his loan spell.

Veljkovic's first appearance for Tottenham's first team came as an 88th minute substitute against Sunderland in April 2014. He went on to make two further appearances from the bench against Aston Villa in the Premier League and AEL Limassol in the Europa League.

Milos represented Switzerland at Under-16 level before switching allegiances to Serbia in 2012. He was part of Serbia's Under-19 European Championship team in 2013 and was named in team of the tournament as his country went on to lift the trophy after defeating France in the final.

Veljkovic earned praise for man marking Isco in Serbia Under-21s 2-1 aggregate win over Spain in qualification for the 2015 Under-21 European Championship. Milos was selected to play for Serbia's Under-20 team in the summer of 2015 and played every minute of the competition as they beat Brazil in the final.

For the majority of his international career Veljkovic played at centre back.
