Youth career
On 2 February 2015 Ashley joined League One club Chesterfield initially on a 28-day youth loan. On 18 February he made his senior debut in a league match at Scunthorpe, which Chesterfield lost 2-0. On 2 March it was announced that the loan would now run until the end of the season.
