2022-23 Under-18 Professional Development League Cup

The 2022-23 Under-18 Professional Development League Cup is the second campaign of the domestic youth team cup competition, which pits Category 2 teams against each other in an initial three-game group stage. All Category 2 academies scheduled to be involved apart from Ipswich Town, Charlton Athletic and Sheffield United along with selected invitees from Category 3, with groups drawn geographically. Clubs play each other once, either home or away, with the winners of the seven groups plus the best runners-up advancing to the quarter-finals. The knockout rounds will be one-off matches.

Ipswich Town are the defending cup holders.

Teams

Fifteen Category 2 Under-18 teams are invited to feature in this year's competition along the following Category 3 academies:

Blackpool, Bournemouth, Bradford City, Doncaster Rovers, Exeter City, Forest Green Rovers, Huddersfield Town, Lincoln City, Luton Town, Oxford United, Plymouth Argyle, Preston North End, Shrewsbury Town.
