Place of Birth Clevedon, England

Playing career

Gill made his football league breakthrough at 27, having previously been playing non-league. He was still playing at 38. His usual position was right back, although he was used in every position across the back line and also in midfield sometimes. His league clubs were Birmingham City, Northampton and Cheltenham.

Managerial career

In 2010, Gill became the manager at Weymouth. Financial difficulties had left the club short of players, and the same problem made it very difficult for him to replace them. He resigned after just 44 days. From there he moved into youth coaching, at Bristol Rovers, then Kidderminster Harriers, and then Norwich City. He joined Wolves in July 2015.
