Youth career

Burgoyne signed for Wolves at twelve, having had unsuccessful trials at other local clubs. During the first year of his scholarship he was briefly loaned out to Doncaster Rovers, and appeared for them in an FA Youth Cup match against Manchester City.

He was a nominee for Wolves' Academy Player of the Season for 2014-15, which was won by Regan Upton.
