Ryan joined Liverpool as an Under-9 player.

He made his professional debut while on loan at Coventry City, coming off the bench in a League One game against Scunthorpe United in September 2015. Kent then made his Liverpool debut in an FA Cup tie against Exeter City in January 2016.
